Did you notice I figured out WordPress? I impressed myself. SMART!
My Etsy is back open until Christmas, shop while it’s hot!
Also, I am trying to figure out WordPress and FTP and all that noise on my own. I have a solid hang of most of it, but forgive me while I struggle with learning about changing out the photos and creating a gallery. I know I can, it’ll just take me a little bit. Determination is me!
I’m actually pretty excited to add a new talent to my resume. Always good to keep learning.
Long time no post. I’ve been otherwise occupied making things for A LOT OF EVENTS.
GOING ON NOW: Primary Elements at the St Louis Craft Alliance Gallery (yeah, that’s me on the postcard! already had to restock them once.)
Opening Nov 22: Let There Be Light at Lillstreet Gallery in Chicago
Nov 29: 5th Annual Market Day Black Friday, Downtown Des Moines
Nov 30: Etsy store holiday sale
Dec 5-7: Art Mart at the Iowa State Memorial Union (studio seconds!)
Dec 7-8: Renegade Holiday Market in Chicago at Pulaski Park Fieldhouse
I have also stocked all my galleries with plenty of new work for your holiday needs. Get shopping!
Two more shows for September-
The Octagon Festival for the Arts in Ames, IA Sunday Sept 22, 10am-5pm
Lincoln Arts Festival in Lincoln, NE Sat-Sun Sept 28-29, 10am-6pm (5 on Sun)
After I’m done traveling I will be working on stocking up galleries for the season, so I’ve taken down my Etsy shop for awhile. I expect to be able to restock it by late October, and you can sign up on Etsy to get updates when I’m back open. As always, you can contact me if you’re looking for something in the meanwhile!
So yeah, my girl Stephanie built me a new website something around two months ago. Maybe you saw it. I was a little busy, lots going on, and have neglected it, always saying I’ll get to it later. Well, I got to it. My shoulders were killing me so I had them worked on this morning, and while I was sitting here icing them, I decided to learn this WordPress business.
Like a boss. Now I feel really bad for neglecting it, because it’s gorgeous (stephanie!) and super easy to use. Hence my guilty face up there.
August has been all about making ever since the Uptown in Minneapolis. September’s a big one though. Come catch me at:
Renegade Chicago Sept 7-8
Octagon Arts Festival in Ames Sept 22
Lincoln Arts Fest in Lincoln, NE Sept 28-29
New work, new colors, new items. Always thinking, that’s me. Never happy with staying the same. Hope to see you there, and my Etsy is somewhat stocked too if you can’t make it.
In case you haven’t seen it, I’ve spent some time on my Etsy shop (finally). And while I’m not taking super-custom orders (ie: huge cake stands), I do have some customizable wedding gift platters listed, and am willing to do some customizing on items I make regularly (his and her mugs make a great gift!)
Point is, these things take some time, so contact me NOW for July, August, even September! weddings to be certain your gift arrives on time. (PS- also good for birthdays, anniversaries, and damn-it-I’m-awesome self-gifting.)
Reminds me of a lot of people I have known.
Unfortunate Things People say at Art Fairs
Every. Single. Word.
“You should do penguins” “Why don’t you have dragonflies?” “Wait, you MAKE the POTTERY too?!” “What’s your real job?” “That sounds like so much fun, I’m so jealous!” “I can get that at Target for $5”
Eyes firmly rolled.
ATTN! I am teaching a PYOP (paint your own pottery) night at the ISU Workspace on June 27 (7-9pm). It’s a $5 studio fee plus whatever bisque you purchase. The focus will be on a mixing bowl set, though you’re welcome to work on anything…. and we’ll be STAMPING THEM UP! Here are some photos of the really fun example (and rather retro) pieces I did a few weeks ago.
